LO3- Be able to carry out a production role for a specific media production
Roles and responsibilities
As part of my creative media diploma, I was given a task to create a film trailer in a team of 3 this is one of my twelve units. The team was given a certain timescale we had to follow but also given freedom for creativity making the unit fun to make and this makes production smooth. we chose too call our film Counting Cards and the film was about a gambling addict who loses all his fortune on a illegal game gone wring and through the situation he gets himself in the business of drugs which turns into him hunting for the people who stole his fortune. As we only had 3 people on our team and one is already a director I had to take the role of a cameraman and this involved me learning how to use the equipment which is a cannon DSLR and a stabilizer. This means I have to look at the storyboards and get the correct angles. Whilst in the production of the film I also had to help the director and the editor with the last touches on the film.
Contribution to production
Being a cameraman results in me filming the whole film trailer. In the beginning of the production process I found it difficult to get the correct shot because I didn't know how t fil it but one I had an idea of the story line and went back to editing then I could see what next footage to capture. I have never done a large project like this before so it took longer than I thought but once I finish i felt like i had a lot of weight of my shoulders but had to help the editor organise the footage as I had more time to look at the storyboards. Some times I would redo the filming so then i get the best footage for the final trailer. If I was task to film another trailer I would approach it with more organization because we struggled to get the actors. I would also do it in less time and I wish i had put more information towards the editing when it was done by Lewis. I had great input as my creative mind-set can help with editing.

This day was one of the main days and we ended up filming most of the trailer in that location as we had the actors and all the materials needed.
I was the second camera man in this scene as we wanted to capture two types of angles I took this photo so it shows evidence of us filming.

Understanding additional task
Over many units I have taken many types of job roles and through the production I have development many skills including editing and directing. I have learnt how to make a poster in correct format and change. For unit 41 I made sure that i can spend quality time making the documentary so I bought the premier sweet so I can do my work at home. I had to undertake the job role of a director for the documentary unit. In the unit 14 i had to task of making a magazine which I loved to do because I could easily think about the house style and follow the genre also I did a subject that is my hobby. My favourite unit was the poster making as my photography skills were used in for the image in the background. This goes into my filming.
